'Maddie is Online' is delighted to be presenting this month at the 'CILIPS Autumn Regathering 2021' that will take place on 26th October 2021. The event in not online but in the real world, and it is already fully booked. Of course these days, our perception of 'real' is closer to the online than the physical environment. It is strange how going to a physical place makes us feel mixed emotions, a mix of anticipation and uncertainly, and how sharing a screen in our house room is comforting and more normal than ever. What will it be like?
The aim of the event "is to bring people back together, share innovative work and highlight the ways in which library and information professionals from all sectors are essential to a changing world and today’s rapidly evolving circumstances". So back together we go and look forward to this old by somewhat new experience.
Needless to share that we are ready and equipped!
As the "Series 3 Copyright" resources toolkit is almost ready we are planning to offer a brief overview of some of its content and the main directions of the new series, but most importantly, share some of the keys findings of the project which involved collecting data directly from schools. The impact of our work focuses on keeping a positive and open the conversation with children around digital literacy and online resilience principles and reinforcing children’s digital citizenship skills, creativity and imagination. The resources emphasise children’s voices via a safe, skills-growing and resilient online training approach which addresses the emotional dimensions of online connectivity and how it influences wellbeing, helping children to engage in discussion about ways to safeguard their digital lives and be smart about the websites they visit as well as the people they engage with online.
