We are delighted to see our latest project, featured on the Robert Gordon University's School of Law and Social Sciences blog. To read a detailed overview of the project with some of its initial outcomes please visit: Generative Artificial Intelligence Skills in Schools (GenAISiS project) – School of Law & Social Sciences Blog

The Generative Artificial Skills in Schools (GenAISiS) project presents the 5th series of 'Maddie is Online' and has been funded by Responsible AI UK. The project is conducted in collaboration with CILIPS (Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals in Scotland) and three School librarians as partners, and aims to explore the responsible use of Generative AI among secondary school students (12 and 13 years old).

As part of the series a video cartoon story is being developed together with an open educational toolkit with resources to enhance GenAI literacy. The project engages students in discussions about GenAI ethics, bias, transparency, and information literacy. The main features of the project include:

  • Co-Creation of Educational Materials: Developing cartoon-based learning resources, which feature student voices and experiences.

  • Toolkit for Educators: Creating an open-access educational toolkit with lesson plans and activities to support responsible GenAI use in schools or at home.

  • Workshops & Public Engagement: Hosting events to showcase findings and promote AI literacy among educators, young people and parents.
