Tech Fest 2026
Tech Fest 2026
At the end of May, we spent four days participating at Tech Fest 2026 in Aberdeen. TechFest is an annual celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths at the North-East of Scotland and stands as the second longest-running science festival after Edinburgh. As part of the event we ran workshops with pupils from four primary schools in Aberdeen (a total of 100 children).
We also welcomed families to visit our Generative Artificial Intelligence Skills in Schools (GenAISiS) stall, packed with co-created activities we co-developed with children from schools.
The level of excitement at the activities was extraordinary. Children were literally on their feet, hands shooting up, eager to share ideas and take part. We have genuinely never seen anything quite like it. Pupils and their parents also developed stronger understanding of ethical AI, AI hallucinations and bias, engaging with our stall.
Tech Fest had approx. 2800 people attending and over 2100 school pupils and teaching staff through the doors during the Schools Week. We received very positive feedback and we enjoyed several deeper conversations about AI with families and other visitors.
A huge thank you to the brilliant children and families who joined us. What a fantastic four days!
